Babatngon.
Couple.
Tony & Ypille Tirse

ABOUT US

Brother Tony was born on December 19, 1972 in New Orleans, LA and moved to Tampa, Florida in 1981 where he grew up. He was saved in 1997 after reading a marked edition of the New Testament given to him years earlier by a soul-winning preacher who was visiting in the neighborhood. He made that faith public on July 23, 2000 and began to grow rapidly in the faith, teaching his first Sunday School class in 2001. He and His wife, Ypille, met in November of 1999 and were married in November of 2000. She was saved in February 11, 2001 and they were baptized together a week later.

They both continued to grow in love and in the faith together when Brother Tony began to realize a calling on him to enter the ministry. After careful prayer and discussion he publicly surrendered himself fully to the ministry of the gospel with his wife at his side in November of 2002 at Trinity Baptist Church in Bradenton, Florida. In 2003, on a trip to the Philippines, Sister Ypille’s homeland, Brother Tony began to feel that God might call him to be a missionary to the Philippines. However, he put this out of his mind thinking it may have just been some sentiment on his part because this was where his wife was from. But as the months turned into years he realized he had a great burden for the people of the Philippines and after much prayer together, Brother Tony and Sister Ypille publicly surrendered to be missionaries to the Philippines in November of 2005 at Colony Baptist Church in Ellenton, Florida. Brother Tony subsequently completed his first survey trip to the Philippines the following month.

After some major life events, including Sister Ypille requiring a kidney transplant due to illness and their move to the Spring Hill, Florida area, the Lord directed them to Lighthouse Baptist Church where they have been faithfully serving God preaching the Gospel and winning souls to the Lord. Brother Tony was licensed and appointed Youth Pastor in April of 2010. In April of 2011 Lighthouse Baptist Church voted to send them out as missionaries to the Philippines where their mission will be to start local New Testament Baptist churches and seek souls for God's kingdom.

Brother Tony is a medical assistant by training and Sis. Ypille is a registered nurse. They have been in various capacities of the ministry since 2002. Bro. Tony has three years of Bible Institute training and eight years of ministry experience including bus captain, Sunday school teacher, evangelism leader and youth pastor. Now they have stepped out by faith in obedience to God’s call to set out for waaaay on the other side of the planet in the Philippines, eager to watch God’s power and provision work in that vast mission field.

ABOUT THE MINISTRY

Christ for the Philippines Mission is a ministry wholly dedicated to the glory of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, proclaiming the gospel for the salvation of souls and the edification of saints on the island of Leyte, Republic of the Philippines.

The Tirse’s were authorized and sent out by Lighthouse Baptist Church in Spring Hill, Florida because they have a desire to share God’s Word with as many people as possible in obedience to our Master’s command to preach the gospel to every creature (Mark 16:15). We claim the promises of our Lord that where two shall agree on earth as touching any thing that we shall ask, it shall be done for us of the Father which is in heaven and that if two or three are gathered in His Name, He will be there in the midst of them (Mat. 18:19-20). With this ministry we have a three-fold purpose and desire:

        1.  That souls may come to understand the gospel and know Jesus Christ as their
              Lord and personal Saviour.
        2.  That we may have a hand in starting local New Testament churches throughout
              this field.
        3.  That we would have the honor and opportunity to train up young men and women
in the service of the Lord as He calls them in a local church-based Bible institute.

STATEMENT OF FAITH

1. We believe that the Scriptures, the Old and New Testaments, are inspired of God, without error, and that they are of supreme and final authority in faith and life. We believe that God has preserved the Bible for the English speaking people in the AV 1611 KJB. (Mat. 24:35; Ps. 12:6-7)

2. We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (Isa. 43:10-11, 44:6; I John. 5:7; Mat. 3:16-17)

3. We believe that Jesus Christ was conceived by the Holy Spirit, was born of the Virgin Mary, and is true God and true man. (Isa. 7:14; Mat. 1:24-25; Luke 1:26-35; John 1:1; Col. 1:16-17)

4. We believe that man was created in the image of God, that he sinned and thereby incurred not only physical death but also spiritual death which is separation from God, and that all human beings are born with a sinful nature and are now sinners by birth and by choice, positively inclined to evil, and are therefore under just condemnation to eternal ruin without defense or excuse. (Gen. 1:27, 2:17, 3:6; Rom. 5:12, 6:23; Ps. 51:5)

5. We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, as a representative and substitutionary sacrifice, and that all who believe on Him as personal Saviour are justified on the grounds of His shed blood. (I Cor. 15:3- 4; Acts 4:10; I Pet. 3:18; John 3:16-17; Heb. 9:22)

6. We believe in the bodily resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ, His bodily ascension into heaven and His bodily presence there for us as High Priest and Advocate. (Mat. 28:6; Acts 1:9; Heb. 4:14; I John 2:1; I Tim. 2:5)

7. We believe in "the blessed hope," the personal, bodily and imminent return of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. This return will be in two “phases”, first, the catching away of those that sleep in the Lord and those that are alive to meet Him in the air (commonly called the rapture), then after the seven years tribulation, at the climax of Armageddon He will physically set foot on the Mount of Olives thereby ushering in His 1,000 year kingdom (commonly called the Millennial Reign). (I Thes. 4:15-18; I Cor. 15:51-52; Titus 2:13)

8. We believe that all who receive by faith the Lord Jesus Christ are born again of the Holy Spirit and are thereby children of God and are eternally saved and secure. (John 3:3,6; Rom. 10:13; John 1:12, 3:36)

9. We believe that Satan is literal and personal, the agent of the fall, the archenemy of God, the prince and power of this world, and that he shall be judged and eternally punished in the lake of fire. (Isa. 14:12-15; Eph. 6:12; I Pet. 5:8; Rev. 20:10)

10. We believe in the bodily resurrection of the dead, both of the just and unjust. I believe in a literal heaven and a literal hell; that the spirits of the saved at death ascend immediately to the presence and everlasting joy of the Lord Jesus Christ and that the spirits of the unsaved at death descend immediately into hell where they are kept under punishment until the final day of judgment, at which time their bodies shall be raised from the grave, they shall be judged according to their works, and cast into the lake of fire- the place of final and everlasting punishment. (Luke 16:19-31; Rev. 20:12-22:5)

11. We believe that immersion is the only form of baptism revealed and commanded in the Scriptures, that it has NO saving power, but is only for those who are already saved; and that the new birth, which comes through repentance and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, is the scriptural prerequisite to baptism; therefore only those who are old enough to believe for themselves should be baptized. (Mat. 3:16-17; Mark 16:16 Acts 2:38, 41, 8:35-38)

12. We believe that the Lord's Supper is a memorial of the death of Christ and that only those who have been saved through faith in His atoning blood, have been baptized and are walking in obedient fellowship with Him ought to partake of it. We believe that only the members of the local church administering this ordinance are authorized to partake in it, this is commonly known as “closed” communion.(Luke 22:19-20; I Cor. 11:23-29)

13. We believe that a New Testament church is a body of baptized believers, organized for the worship and service of God, and the spread of the Gospel in all the world. The only two Scriptural offices of the church are that of pastor and deacons and must be filled only by men. (Mat. 16:16-18, 18:20; 28:19-20; Acts 2:46-47; Eph. 1:22-23; I Tim. 3:1-13, 2:11-12; I Cor. 14:34-35)

14. We believe that all the saved are called into a life of separation. This separation is in at least three areas: moral, personal, and ecclesiastical. (Rom. 12:1-2; I Cor. 6:19-20; Titus 2:14; Eph. 5:11; I Pet. 1:15-16)

15. We believe that the healing and tongues movement of today is unscriptural and contrary to sound doctrine, and those who believe and practice these are in error. (I Cor. 14:6, 22-23; II Cor. 11:14)

16. We believe that we are living in the days of apostasy where many will not endure sound doctrine; that it is vital to stay on the “old paths” of Scripture no matter how much pressure is felt to compromise the Word or sound doctrine with the things of the world. The ecumenical and “contemporary Christian” movements of today are unscriptural and contrary to sound doctrine, and those who believe and practice these are in error. (I Tim. 4:1; II Tim. 1:12, 3: 1-14, 4:1-5)
